千葉大学の墨田サテライトキャンパス内に開設された、千葉大学と墨田区と民間企業が地域課題を解決する研究開発拠点、「あつまレHUB・LAB・SUMIDA」(あそんで・つながって・まなべるレクリエーション施設)を案内していただけました。
大学の研究成果を社会に還元するために、ものづくりのまちの力を借りて、民間企業と連携し、社会課題を解決していくのはとても良いことだと思います。
今は椅子に座るなどの日常の動作を撮影して、その動作解析から認知症を早期発見する等に取り組まれているようです。
その他、キャンパス内にはUDCすみだも設置されています。
I was given a tour of “Atsumare HUB LAB SUMIDA,” a research and development hub established within Chiba University’s Sumida Satellite Campus, where Chiba University, Sumida City, and private companies collaborate to address local and social challenges. The facility also serves as a recreational space where people can play, connect, and learn.
I believe it is a great initiative to return the results of university research to society by working together with private companies and drawing on the strengths of Sumida, a district well known for its manufacturing industry.
One of the current projects appears to involve recording everyday activities, such as sitting down in a chair, and analyzing those movements to enable the early detection of dementia.
In addition, UDC Sumida is also located within the campus.
